This vital role combines front desk administrative support with client communication and animal handling responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, and experience working with animals in a clinical setting. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to animal health and well-being while supporting the efficient operation of our veterinary practice. Duties Greet clients and their pets warmly, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk Schedule appointments, confirm bookings, and manage client communications via phone, email, and in person Handle medical collections and process payments accurately using veterinary software systems Maintain detailed and organized patient records in compliance with veterinary clinic standards Assist with animal restraint during examinations or procedures to ensure safety for animals and staff Support veterinary team with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management Experience with AVIMARK software Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments following aseptic techniques for surgeries or procedures Manage laboratory samples and assist with basic laboratory procedures as needed Ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines regarding controlled substances and animal handling Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care Must be a Team player Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred, including familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical-surgical procedures Knowledge of veterinary software systems for scheduling, record keeping, and billing (e.g., veterinary management software) Experience with animal handling, restraint, kennel management, and pet care techniques including dog handling and animal husbandry Familiarity with laboratory procedures, medical collection techniques, and aseptic methods is advantageous Ability to understand and adhere to USDA regulations and DEA guidelines related to veterinary practice Strong communication skills for client interaction, including explaining medical procedures and treatment plans clearly Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for administrative support tasks Animal anatomy knowledge, veterinary critical care experience, or equine experience are considered a plus We are open Monday - Friday. Weekend availability to do care for boarded pets, clinic maintenance and administrative duties on rotation basis This role is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations while providing compassionate support to our clients and their pets. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals.
