Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering comprehensive medical treatment, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and promoting animal welfare. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a positive environment for both pets and their owners, contributing to the health and happiness of every animal that walks through our doors. Duties Assist with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safe procedures during examinations, treatments, and surgeries Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and record keeping Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by cleaning cages, surgical areas, equipment, and ensuring proper sanitation protocols are followed Help with pet care activities including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal welfare before and after procedures Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic tests by performing animal husbandry tasks and ensuring proper positioning and restraint Communicate effectively with clients at the front desk regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and follow-up needs Support emergency critical care efforts by assisting in triage, monitoring vital signs, and providing compassionate animal care during urgent situations Skills Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and husbandry practices Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic medical procedures such as medication administration and record keeping Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and understanding animal behavior to ensure safety for animals and staff Experience with surgical support tasks including IV insertion, catheterization, and assisting during surgeries or procedures Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly to maintain a safe environment for staff and animals Strong client communication skills to provide clear pet care instructions and foster positive relationships with pet owners Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in record keeping and cleanliness Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals every day! Pay:
$25.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
