Duties:

Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, venipuncture, IV insertion, and catheterization to ensure safe and effective treatment. Prepare animals for examinations and surgeries by performing animal husbandry tasks and maintaining proper restraint techniques. Operate medical equipment such as radiology units, anesthesia monitors, laboratory analyzers, and diagnostic imaging tools to facilitate accurate diagnostics. Monitor animals under anesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety through vigilant veterinary anesthesia monitoring. Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, sample processing, and diagnostic radiology to support accurate disease diagnosis. Manage pet care routines such as medication administration, wound management, and critical & intensive care procedures for hospitalized animals. Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical assistance and laboratory procedures to prevent infection and ensure compliance with safety standards. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-operative care to foster trust and understanding.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a veterinary setting with proficiency in animal handling, kennel management, and veterinary procedures. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and medical equipment operation. Hands-on experience with dental terminology, dental procedures, and laboratory diagnostics including radiology diagnostics. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling. Strong skills in pet care practices such as animal restraint, medication administration, IV insertion, and anesthesia monitoring. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in emergency medicine situations while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent client communication skills paired with a compassionate approach to animal care; previous experience in veterinary emergency care is advantageous.
