Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to support our veterinarian(s) and provide excellent care to our patients. This role is essential to ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both animals and clients. Responsibilities include assisting with exams and procedures, maintaining clinic cleanliness, and providing attentive care to animals who may be nervous, injured, or recovering. The ideal candidate is organized, quick-thinking, and passionate about working with animals in a medical setting. If you love animals and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you. Responsibilities Feed, groom, and weigh animals Clean cages and bathe animals Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Vet Help in cases of emergencies Scheduling appointments or calling patients in the examination room by priority Keep accurate records and logs Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for and explain issues Requirements Experience in Client/Customer Service Current or former pet ownership is an advantage Excellent communication skills Patient and caring personality Ability to follow instructions properly Comfortable being around Dogs and Cats Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 50 lbs) High school diploma or GED A certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus but not a requirement. Bilingual - Spanish is a plus but knowledge of other languages is appreciated
