The cardiology coordinator works closely with the doctor and technician to organize workflow for the service. It is a hybrid role that involves a large amount of client communication and administrative duties but also includes participating in diagnostics and treatments. The coordinator must enjoy working with owners and establishing bonds with them and their pets. They will be responsible for setting owner expectations for their visits to cardiology, calling outside vets for records, processing Trupanion claims, refilling prescriptions, answering client questions over the phone and via email, discharging patients from the hospital (including education regarding monitoring, medication administration, and follow-up), restocking, cleaning the workspace, and starting sympathy cards for circulation amongst staff. The coordinator will also lead social media strategies via posts and reels on Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and TikTok. Apex participates in global clinical research, and the coordinator will aid in collection of data and data entry into a centralized database. Animal handling is required (small and large patients) such that the coordinator can aid the cardiology technician with tests and treatments. Experience with phlebotomy and blood pressure measurement is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn these skills is a must. Apex is proudly a low-stress clinic, and we use gentle handling, treats, and behavioral cues to make our patients' visits positive. Previous veterinary experience in some capacity (reception, technician assistant, etc.) is required. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills is required. Successful Candidates will be proficient in:

• Use of medical record software including scheduling appointments, and obtaining and uploading referring veterinary records
• Client communication and education
• Social media platforms
• Basic math (drug calculations)
• Pharmacy duties
• Animal restraint (including fear-free techniques)
