Windsor, CA Pay:
$23.00- 28.
Responsibilities Duties may include:
Safely restraining dogs and cats for examinations and procedures Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care Obtaining patient histories and documenting information accurately Preparing examination and treatment areas Assisting with blood draws and sample collection based on experience and training Preparing and processing laboratory samples Assisting with radiographs Preparing patients for surgical and dental procedures Assisting with anesthesia monitoring based on experience and training Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment Administering treatments as directed by the veterinarian Filling medications and reviewing basic medication instructions with clients as appropriate Maintaining accurate medical records Cleaning and maintaining treatment, surgical, laboratory, and patient-care areas Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients Supporting coworkers throughout the hospital as needed Qualifications Veterinary hospital experience is required.The ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience working as a Veterinary Assistant Be comfortable handling both dogs and cats Have excellent communication and organizational skills Be dependable, punctual, and professional Be able to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Work well as part of a team Be comfortable in a busy medical environment Demonstrate compassion and patience with both patients and clients Be willing to learn and accept constructive feedback Understand the importance of maintaining a clean and organized hospital Experience with venipuncture, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, dentistry, and surgical assisting is highly desirable but not required for the right candidate. Schedule Daytime weekday availability is required. Specific schedule will be discussed during the interview process. Compensation $23.00- 28.
