We will offer 24/7 emergency care and a full range of specialty services. Job Summary The Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care by partnering closely with Registered Veterinary Technicians, veterinarians, specialists, client service representatives, and the multidisciplinary care team. This individual assists with patient care, treatments, diagnostics, client support, and hospital operations while helping ensure a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment for patients and their families. Veterinary Assistants are expected to work collaboratively across multiple departments, including Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology, Radiology, and other specialty services as hospital needs evolve. Key Responsibilities Patient Care

• Assist veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with patient restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and routine nursing care
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, imaging, and surgery
• Monitor patient comfort and report changes in condition to the medical team
• Assist with patient recovery following procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian or credentialed technician Clinical Support
• Prepare treatment areas, exam rooms, and specialty suites for patient care
• Collect laboratory samples and perform laboratory testing as permitted by hospital protocols
• Maintain equipment, stock supplies, and ensure treatment areas remain clean and organized
• Assist with patient transport throughout the hospital and support multiple specialty departments as needed Hospital Operations
• Support workflow across Emergency and Specialty services based on daily patient needs
• Assist with cleaning, stocking, instrument processing, kennel care, and overall hospital organization
• Maintain accurate medical documentation as directed by the medical team
• Follow hospital protocols to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care Collaboration
• Work closely with veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technicians, Client Service Representatives, and hospital leadership to provide exceptional patient and client experiences
• Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in multiple departments and adapting to changing hospital priorities
• Foster a collaborative, supportive, and positive team environment Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
• Experience in emergency, specialty, or general practice veterinary medicine preferred
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills
• Ability to safely assist with patient care, diagnostics, and treatments under appropriate supervision
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills and work across multiple specialty departments
