We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician who is comfortable balancing both: gentle, attentive patient care in the room, while staying organized, proactive, and efficient throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, meaningful client interaction, and being part of a team that is constantly moving, adapting, and supporting one another. Key Responsibilities 1. Patient Care & Clinical Support Gently assist with patient handling during consultations and rechecks using a Fear Free approach Support acupuncture and integrative treatments by providing calm, steady restraint and monitoring patient comfort Assist with outpatient procedures and diagnostics, including radiography, musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections, blood draws and sample handling Monitor patients under sedation during procedures Set up and reset equipment and treatment rooms efficiently between appointments Assist as a scribe when needed 2. Client Experience Create a warm, welcoming environment for clients and their pets Engage with clients during appointments - our doctors perform treatments in-room, allowing time for conversation and education Help clients feel comfortable and supported while their pet is receiving care Communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately 3. Team & Workflow Support Stay one step ahead of the doctor by anticipating needs during appointments Transition quickly between tasks and appointments while maintaining attention to detail Assist rehabilitation team members as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam and treatment areas throughout the day Contribute to end-of-day reset to prepare for the following day What We're Looking For Calm, confident animal handling skills - especially with gentle restraint Personable and comfortable interacting with clients Self-starter who takes initiative and does not wait to be directed Strong multitasking ability - you can shift gears quickly without losing focus Highly organized and detail-oriented Team-oriented with a positive, supportive attitude Interest in integrative medicine, physical rehabilitation and sports medicine Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience as a veterinary assistant or technician Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) a plus, but not required Experience with radiology, phlebotomy, or sedation monitoring is a plus Willingness to learn and grow within a specialty setting Why mOcean We are a locally owned, specialty practice focused on sports medicine, rehabilitation, and integrative care. Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
