Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be committed to providing the highest level of support to our veterinary staff and clients. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients while assisting with various clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures. Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety during visits. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or technician. Prepare animals for surgery, including monitoring vital signs. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms. Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' care and treatment plans. Document patient information accurately in medical records. Experience Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is required. Familiarity with animal handling techniques and behavior. Knowledge of medication administration, animal husbandry, and basic laboratory procedures is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and their pets.
