Job Overview We are a brand-new start-up, one doctor, small animal Veterinary Clinic opening soon in the Gulf Place community of Santa Rosa Beach, FL! We are a family-owned, faith-based Veterinary Clinic where we believe that our work is not just a profession, but a calling. We approach veterinary care with Christian values at the core of what we do—kindness, stewardship, honesty, and love. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the well-being of our patients while also maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Duties Assist the veterinarian during examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and equipment. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring accurate dosages and proper techniques. Provide administatation support as needed, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and greeting clients. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Care for animals in the treatment area, including feeding, grooming, and exercising them as required. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood draws and urinalysis under the supervision of veterinary staff. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team promptly. Skills Proficiency in veterinary critical care practices is highly desirable. Experience with medication administration and understanding of various medications used in veterinary medicine. Strong front desk skills, including customer service experience in a veterinary or animal care setting. Knowledge of aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment during procedures. Passion for animal care, with a commitment to providing compassionate support to both pets and their owners. Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is an asset. Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory. Join our team where your passion for animal care can make a difference!
