Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to our furry friends. Your responsibilities will include assisting with animal handling, providing basic medical care, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kennel area, and ensuring the overall well-being of the animals in our care.
Duties:
  • Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and exercising
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living spaces
  • Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
  • Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
  • Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress and report to veterinary staff
  • Assist with animal restraint during examinations or procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of animal intake, behavior, and medical treatments
  • Assist with basic training exercises for dogs
  • Provide support to veterinary technicians and veterinarians as needed
Preferneces:
  • Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting preferred
  • Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent Please note that all positions at our facility are paid positions.
