Job Description

FULL-TIME VETERINARY ASSISTANT
Mars Hill Pet Care is a rapidly growing, privately owned veterinary practice , and we're looking for a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves animals, enjoys working with people, and understands the importance of teamwork in veterinary medicine. This is a full-time position with NO WEEKENDS and a great opportunity for someone who wants to continue learning, develop their skills, and grow alongside our practice. A minimum of 1 year of veterinary assistant or veterinary clinical experience is required. We're looking for someone who already has a foundation in veterinary medicine and is ready to continue developing their skills as part of a growing team. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our doctors, technicians, patients, clients, and the overall day-to-day operation of the hospital.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, treatments, and procedures Assisting with surgical preparation and patient monitoring as directed Preparing exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical areas Feeding, walking, bathing, and monitoring hospitalized or drop-off patients Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, treatment areas, surgical areas, and other hospital spaces Cleaning, stocking, laundry, and helping keep the hospital organized and ready for patients Accurately entering patient weights, treatments, notes, and other information into medical records as directed Recognizing changes in a patient's behavior or condition and communicating concerns to the veterinary team Following hospital safety, sanitation, and patient-care protocols Being willing to step in and help wherever needed to support our patients and team What We're Looking For At least 1 year of veterinary assistant or veterinary clinical experience is required.

Dependable and punctual Comfortable handling and restraining dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments Familiar with basic veterinary terminology and patient care Compassionate and patient with animals Friendly and professional with clients Able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment Organized and attentive to detail Comfortable with cleaning and the physical demands of veterinary medicine Willing to learn, grow, and accept direction A true team player who understands that providing exceptional patient care takes everyone working together Why Mars Hill Pet Care?
