We are building something intentionally different, an environment where veterinary medicine feels sustainable, thoughtful, and genuinely supportive for both the team and the families we serve. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Assistant or LVT, you will support patient care and help maintain smooth daily workflow throughout the hospital. You will work closely with veterinarians and fellow teammates to create a calm, supportive experience for both patients and clients.
Responsibilities include:
LVTs are encouraged to fully utilize their training, skills, and expertise, practicing at the highest level permitted within their legal scope of practice Providing attentive patient care, keeping patients clean, comfortable, and safe Monitoring patients and alerting the team to any changes in condition Safely restraining patients using low-stress handling techniques Assisting with exams, treatments, surgery, and dentistry Recovering patients from anesthesia and sedation Administering medications and performing treatments as directed Assisting with diagnostics, including in-house lab work and radiographs Filling prescriptions accurately and asking for guidance when needed Maintaining accurate and timely medical records Walking, feeding, and caring for hospitalized patients Setting up and assisting with procedures, including IV catheter placement and other treatments Ensuring patients leave clean and comfortable after their visit Helping maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused. You may be a great fit if you: Have at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting Are confident handling and restraining animals safely and respectfully Communicate clearly with both clients and team members Educate and communicate with clients in a supportive, non-judgmental way that builds trust and comfort Stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment Take initiative and look for ways to help without being asked Have strong attention to detail and can maintain accurate medical records Are flexible and able to adapt as priorities shift throughout the day Schedule Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Closed 12-1pm for lunch Compensation & Benefits Compensation $16 to $22 per hour, depending on experience and licensing Health Benefits Monthly health reimbursement arrangement(QSHERA) to support coverage Plan to transition to full health benefits as the practice grows Time Off Two weeks of paid vacation Paid holidays Pet Care Benefits Employee discount on services and products, structured to provide the maximum allowable benefit under IRS guidelines Additional pet care stipend to support your pets' needs Physical & Work Environment Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently, more with assistance Ability to stay active and engaged throughout a full shift Comfort working in an environment with animals, including exposure to noise, odors, and potential bites or scratches Why Magnolia?
