Duties Assist veterinarians with a wide range of medical procedures including animal restraint, surgical assistance, and anesthesia monitoring. Perform laboratory work such as blood draws, sample processing, and diagnostic testing using veterinary software and radiology diagnostics tools. Handle animal care tasks including feeding, cleaning, administering medications, and maintaining animal comfort and safety. Provide excellent customer service through clear client communication to educate pet owners about health needs and best care recommendations. Providing efficient and smooth appointment scheduling and check-in/check-out procedures. Support emergency medicine cases by assisting with critical & intensive care procedures, medication administration, IV Fluid therapy, and veterinary anesthesia monitoring. Preferred Skills Proven kennel experience along with animal handling expertise across various species including dogs and horses. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary surgical procedures. Experience with laboratory work, diagnostic radiology, radiology diagnostics, and general anesthesia techniques. Skilled in IV insertion, animal restraint, vascular access, and animal catheterization with a focus on safety and efficiency. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment management. Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet care needs while demonstrating compassion and professionalism. Prior veterinary technician experience or veterinary assisting experience is highly valued for this role. On the job training provided for assistants.
