Our team takes pride in offering thoughtful, personalized care, from routine wellness visits to more advanced medical needs, while building real relationships with clients along the way. We are currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and deliver exceptional care to our patients and clients.
Primary responsibilities:
Checking in patients for exams, medical record-keeping, and invoicing Assisting DVM during appointment with restraint, vaccination administration once proficient, lab sample collection and preparation Medication administration once proficient Monitor animal patients during anesthesia and recovery Perform anesthetic dental procedures including dental scaling, polishing and dental charting Processing in-house lab samples Intake and discharges for surgical procedures Overseeing patient care while in clinic Complete closing tasks at end of day
Skills and Knowledge:
IV catheter placement and phlebotomy once proficient Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, via text and email Ability to work well in high pressure situations and adequately prioritize tasks Ability to work individually and in coordination with a team Self-motivated and eager-to-learn individual Computer proficiency including use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel knowledge of Pulse practice management software is a plus! Ability to lift 35lbs or more
