Job Description

Job Summary The Rescue Assistant serves as the primary liaison between the Veterinary Clinic and local animal rescue organizations and Animal Shelters / Controls. This role is responsible for coordinating medical care, scheduling, communication and record management for rescue patients while ensuring a high level of customer service and efficient workflow within the Clinic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate appointments, surgeries and follow-up are for partner groups. Serve as the main point of contact for partner groups regarding patient care, scheduling and medical updates. Maintain accurate medical records, invoices, and documentation for rescue patients. Communicate treatment plans, estimates and discharge instructions with rescue representatives. Work closely with Veterinarians and assistants to prioritize urgent and routine rescue cases. Ensure all required paperwork, vaccination records, and adoptable health certificates are completed accurately and timely. Communicate with partner groups about their hospitalized patients. Help maintain a clean, organized and efficient work environment. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to improving workflows and client service. Perform other administrative or patient-care support duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications
High school diploma Previous experience in a Veterinary setting, Animal Shelter or rescue organization is preferred. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency with computer software, including Google Workspace is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Compassion for animals is a must! Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. There will be times that you are required to assist with lifting, holding or restraining an animal. You must be comfortable around animals. $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
