Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including medication administration, animal restraint, and catheterization Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding and maintaining clean enclosures Handle animals safely and effectively, including dog handling and feline restraint experience when necessary Support laboratory work by collecting samples, preparing specimens, and maintaining lab equipment - Idexx Manage responsibilities including client communication and patient records management Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure safety Provide pet care advice to clients regarding animal health, nutrition, and behavior Assist with critical care cases by monitoring vital signs and supporting emergency procedures Ensure the cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and kennels Support laboratory testing procedures involving animal physiology and anatomy knowledge Requirements Previous experience in veterinary clinics or hospitals is highly preferred; veterinary assistant or technician experience is a plus Kennel experience, animal handling skills, and pet care knowledge are essential Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques Ability to handle animals safely across various species including dogs and horses (equine experience is desirable) Strong communication skills for client interactions and team Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, restraint techniques, and medication administration Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail A compassionate attitude towards animals and clients alike This position offers an engaging environment for individuals passionate about animal health care.
