Join our dynamic veterinary team as an Experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal care! This energetic position is different than most traditional veterinary clinics. We are a new department within Paws in Paradise boarding and grooming. We have our own clinic and are a fully operating veterinary hospital. We do also support the boarding and grooming departments, so you will get to experience several sides to veterinary care you may not be used to. This is an exciting position and we look forward to meeting the right candidate to join our team. I am looking for someone with vet med experience but will train the right person if needed. Assist veterinarians during examinations, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision. Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, scaling, and polishing pets' teeth. Record detailed medical histories, update patient records, and document treatments using veterinary terminology. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with veterinary staff and educate pet owners about animal health needs.
