Veterinary Assistant - Equine Practice

Specific responsibilities include:

Daily care of patients including medications, grooming and assisting with prescribed treatments. Cleaning and maintenance of medical supplies, equipment and treatment facilities. Assisting in procedures and the restraint of horses for examinations, treatments and surgical procedures. This is a part time position with flexible scheduling. Shifts begin at 8am. One day on call per week, one weekend on call per month. Skills/Requirements Previous experience with horses Valid driver's license Able to lift at least 50lbs Being able to stand for extended periods, walk and jog. Being able to demonstrate a concern for and understanding of horses Able to read, speak and understand English • Good communication, customer service and math skills.
