Job Description

We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our small animal veterinary practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals and wants to be part of a supportive veterinary team. Responsibilities Provide attentive and compassionate care to dogs and cats Safely handle and move animals throughout the hospital Feed and provide fresh water according to patient instructions Walk dogs and provide appropriate exercise and bathroom breaks Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and other patient areas Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment Assist with bathing and basic grooming as needed Monitor animals for changes in behavior, appetite, or overall condition and report concerns to the veterinary team Assist veterinary assistants, technicians, and doctors with general hospital duties as needed Properly dispose of waste and maintain appropriate sanitation protocols Stock supplies and help keep treatment and kennel areas organized Follow all animal-handling and safety procedures Perform other duties as needed to support the veterinary team Qualifications Previous animal care, kennel, boarding, shelter, or veterinary experience is a plus but not required Comfortable working with dogs and cats of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments Able to safely handle animals and follow instructions Reliable and punctual Hardworking and willing to perform cleaning and physical tasks throughout the day Able to work independently as well as part of a team Compassionate and patient with animals Strong attention to cleanliness and detail Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment What We Offer Hands-on experience working with animals in a veterinary setting Training provided to help you learn proper animal care and handling Opportunity to work alongside veterinarians, technicians, and veterinary assistants A supportive team environment Valuable experience for individuals interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, animal care, or related fields If you are dependable, love animals, and are ready to work hard while learning valuable skills, we would love to hear from you!
