Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring pets' health, well-being, and comfort in our boarding facility. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Provide food, water, and bedding to boarding animals and ensure their comfort at all times. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a healthy environment. Monitor the health and behavior of boarding pets and report any concerns to the veterinary staff immediately. Assist with administering medications as directed by the veterinary staff. Exercise and socialize with pets to ensure they receive adequate attention and care. Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing as needed. Perform check-ins and check-outs for boarding pets, ensuring all information is accurately recorded. Provide updates and communicate effectively with pet owners about their pet's stay. Follow all safety and protocol guidelines to prevent escape or injury of pets.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their care and well-being.

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
