Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as an Experienced Vet Tech or Vet Assistant, where your passion for animal care and veterinary expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and confidence Prepare animals for procedures through effective restraint and handling, utilizing knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology Operate medical equipment such as radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, laboratory analyzers, and digital X-ray systems with expertise Perform laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic testing to support accurate diagnoses Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids via IV insertion or catheterization while monitoring patient responses under veterinary supervision Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical assistance and ensure proper sterilization of instruments and equipment Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical care, monitoring anesthesia during surgeries, and assisting with intensive care protocols Communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-procedure care to ensure pet well-being Manage veterinary software for record keeping, appointment scheduling, and treatment documentation efficiently Handle animal restraint safely for various procedures including dental cleanings, radiology imaging, or laboratory sampling Requirements Proven experience as a Vet Tech or Vet Assistant with familiarity in veterinary critical care, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal handling techniques, and pet care best practices Experience with kennel management, pet grooming, dog training, or equine handling is a plus but not required Ability to perform IV insertions, vascular access procedures, radiology diagnostics (X-ray), and animal catheterization confidently Skilled in using medical equipment such as anesthesia machines, radiology devices, laboratory analyzers, and digital imaging tools Excellent communication skills to interact with clients professionally while explaining medical procedures and pet health information Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations involving emergency medicine or critical care cases Commitment to maintaining high standards of aseptic technique and animal safety throughout all procedures Join us in delivering compassionate veterinary care that improves the lives of animals every day!
