THE POSITION

We are seeking an enthusiastic Entry-Level Vet Tech Assistant / Puppy Hugger to join our Illinois team. This is a paid weekend position and an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in animal care, veterinary medicine, and mobile clinic operations. No previous veterinary experience is required — we will train the right person! Weekend travel throughout Illinois is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Educate pet parents about vaccination packages and preventative products appropriate for their pets. Assist with animal handling, restraint, and basic veterinary procedures while prioritizing pet safety and comfort. Provide comfort, affection, and reassurance to puppies and other pets during their visit. Assist the veterinary team with vaccinations and other clinic procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of vaccinations, products, and tests. Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment. Work as part of a team to provide an exceptional experience for every pet parent and pet. Represent ShotVet with professionalism, positivity, and integrity.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is: A genuine animal lover. Energetic, friendly, and positive. Comfortable working directly with pet parents. Reliable and willing to learn. Comfortable handling dogs, cats, puppies, and other animals. A team player with a positive, can-do attitude. Interested in gaining experience in veterinary medicine. Available to work weekends. Willing and able to travel throughout Illinois on weekends.
