When you join Unleashed, you become part of a team that honors the human-animal bond and believes empathy and medical excellence go hand in hand. ____________________________________________________________________________ What You'll Be Doing A Veterinary Assistant would be expected to support the veterinarians, technicians, and other assistants with daily patient care, including safely restraining and handling animals, preparing and cleaning exam rooms and treatment areas, administering vaccines, collecting blood samples, placing intravenous catheters, maintaining medical records, preparing surgical suite, performing dental cleanings, monitoring anesthesia, and performing radiographs. You will:
Create calm, safe experiences for patients by handling and restraining animals with confidence, care, and compassion. Support healing and comfort by providing attentive daily care, monitoring pet needs, and administering treatments accurately. Ensure medical excellence behind the scenes by keeping records precise, supplies organized, and the clinic running smoothly. Strengthen trust with pet parents by supporting treatment plans recommended by veterinarians, explaining post-visit instructions, and offering reassurance during vulnerable moments. Enable high-quality diagnostics and treatments by preparing patients, equipment, and spaces for procedures and testing. What Success Looks Like After 12 Months By one year, a Veterinary Assistant at Unleashed is a trusted, confident team member who: Handles and restrains patients safely while minimizing fear and stress Supports exams, diagnostics, and treatments with accuracy and minimal supervision Maintains clear, timely medical records and an organized clinical environment Communicates compassionately with pet parents and reinforces care instructions Works collaboratively, follows through on responsibilities, and stays calm under pressure Proactively supports clinic flow, inventory needs, and daily operations Has completed Fear-Free Certification and RECOVER CPR and continues to grow professionally
