Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and husbandry to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with surgeries, IV insertions, medication administration, and laboratory testing Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, surgical suites, and equipment to uphold high standards of hygiene and infection control Record detailed patient information including medical history, treatments, medications, and procedural notes accurately in electronic health records Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, post-operative care, and answering general questions about animal welfare Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, processing payments, and maintaining client records Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all animal handling and clinical procedures to promote safety for staff and animals Skills Proven kennel experience with strong animal husbandry skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equines Veterinary clinic experience with familiarity in veterinary terminology, record keeping, and laboratory procedures Skilled in animal restraint techniques and behavior management to ensure safe handling of animals during examinations or treatments Experience with IV insertion, catheterization, medication administration, and surgical assistance is highly desirable Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and welfare principles to support comprehensive patient care Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet health issues while demonstrating empathy and professionalism Comfort working in a fast-paced environment that requires cleaning duties, equipment sterilization, and adherence to safety protocols This role offers a rewarding career path for individuals passionate about animal health.
