Job Description

Overview The veterinary technicians/assistant supports veterinarians by providing skilled clinical assistance in the examination, diagnosis, treatment, and care of companion animals and livestock. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality medical care, maintaining efficient clinic operations, and ensuring a safe, compassionate experience for patients and clients in both clinic and field settings. This role may require cross-team collaboration and flexibility to support the needs of a mixed animal veterinary practice. Pay is dependent on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures. Prepare exam rooms, surgical suites, instruments, and equipment. Safely restrain animals, including cattle and large animals. Collect and prepare laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.). Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including anesthesia support where applicable. Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with clinical protocols. Educate clients on basic animal care, medications, post-treatment instructions, and preventative care (as directed). Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow all clinic protocols related to animal handling, safety, sanitation, controlled substances, and confidentiality. Assist with inventory, equipment maintenance, and stocking of medical supplies as needed. Support team members and clinic operations as needed to ensure efficient patient care. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the effective operation of the clinic. Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Veterinary technician certification is desired but not required. Experience in a veterinary clinic or mixed animal practice preferred. Knowledge of animal handling, medical terminology, and basic clinical procedures. Ability to work effectively in both clinic and field environments. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to lift 40+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks. Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
