We are looking for an eager and reliable animal lover, with open availability, who wants to put their passion into their work! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable space for our furry clients while ensuring their well-being through attentive handling, grooming, and basic medical support. Position requires standing entire shift, must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be outside periodically throughout shift. Evening hours are 6pm-9pm. Weekend hours vary, shifts are 7:30am-12pm and 6pm-9pm. Weekend availability is a must!
Expected weekly hours:
15-20Duties:
- Provide care and assistance to pets in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Perform pet sitting duties, including feeding, walking, and administering medication as directed by pet owners.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Assist with animal catheterization procedures under the guidance of a veterinarian.
- Utilize veterinary terminology and knowledge of aseptic technique when handling animals.
- Handle dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring their safety and comfort during grooming or veterinary procedures.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including sample collection and preparation.
- Follow proper protocols for animal handling to ensure the safety of both the animals and yourself.
- Previous experience in pet care or veterinary settings is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and care.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and aseptic technique is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
