This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, compassionate environment, supporting veterinarians with critical clinical procedures, animal handling, and patient care. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Handle animals safely and confidently, including animal restraint, to ensure comfort and safety for both pets and staff. Perform laboratory tests such as blood draws, sample collection, and processing to support diagnostic efforts. Take X-ray images accurately while maintaining proper animal positioning and safety protocols. Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery during veterinary critical care procedures. Manage animal records meticulously, documenting treatments, vaccinations, and medical histories using veterinary terminology and animal physiology knowledge. Assist with specialized procedures such as animal catheterization, dental cleanings involving dental terminology, and pet grooming to enhance overall pet health. Qualifications Prior hands-on animal handling experience is required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and animal physiology is essential for success in this role. Experience with veterinary technician tasks such as aseptic technique, laboratory work, X-ray operation, and animal catheterization is highly preferred. Strong skills in dog and cat handling, pet care, pet grooming, and dog training will help you excel in supporting our team's efforts. Excellent communication skills combined with a genuine passion for animals are necessary to provide compassionate care.
