Duties Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing supplies, handling animals, and maintaining a sterile environment Provide animal husbandry including feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal behavior to ensure their comfort and safety Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal behavior knowledge to minimize stress and injury for both animals and staff Administer medications, perform IV insertions, catheterizations, and other basic medical procedures under supervision Maintain accurate record keeping of treatments, medications administered, patient histories, and procedural documentation in compliance with clinic protocols Support client communication by explaining pet care instructions, answering questions about treatments or procedures, and providing compassionate customer service at the front desk Ensure cleanliness of the clinic by disinfecting treatment areas, kennels, surgical instruments, and common spaces following PPE (personal protective equipment) protocols Skills Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience that demonstrates familiarity with animal handling and husbandry practices Veterinary assistant or critical care experience that includes skills in medication administration and medical procedures Strong dog handling skills along with general animal handling expertise across species such as cats and other small animals Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior to assist effectively in clinical settings Experience with surgery support tasks including instrument passing and maintaining sterile fields Ability to communicate clearly with clients about pet care needs while demonstrating empathy and professionalism Proficiency in record keeping systems and understanding of animal welfare standards to ensure high-quality care delivery This role is an excellent stepping stone for passionate animal lovers eager to develop their veterinary skills while making a meaningful difference in pets' lives. Pay:
