Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, and surgical support. Handle animals safely and compassionately, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites in accordance with health regulations. Record detailed patient information, treatment plans, and medication logs accurately within electronic medical records. Support animal husbandry activities such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring behavior to promote animal welfare. Manage front desk duties including client check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and answering inquiries professionally. Perform animal catheterization and other technical procedures under supervision or independently as trained. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to uphold safety standards within the clinic environment. Skills Prior kennel experience combined with veterinary technician or critical care experience is highly desirable. Strong animal handling skills with proficiency in dog handling, animal restraint, and pet care practices. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and effective record keeping methods. Experience with surgery preparation, medication administration, and IV insertion techniques. Ability to communicate clearly with clients about pet health needs while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations including front desk responsibilities and client interaction. Competence in animal behavior assessment and understanding of animal welfare principles. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks.
