Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will provide vital support to veterinarians by assisting with medical procedures, patient care, and laboratory work. Your dedication will help ensure a smooth workflow, exceptional pet care, and a welcoming environment for clients and their beloved animals. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures using proper restraint and aseptic techniques Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and equines, ensuring safe animal restraint and handling at all times Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and analysis to support diagnostic efforts Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and laboratory results while adhering to veterinary terminology standards Conduct pet grooming, pet care routines, and basic animal husbandry to promote overall well-being Take and develop X-ray images following proper safety protocols; interpret basic radiographs under supervision Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care routines Experience Prior experience or hands-on animal handling experience in a veterinary or shelter setting Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to assist effectively in medical procedures Experience with veterinary critical care practices and laboratory procedures preferred Familiarity with equine handling or experience working with large animals is a plus Demonstrated ability in dog training, pet grooming, or pet care enhances your versatility in this role Proven skills in animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures are highly valued Previous veterinary technician experience is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential This vibrant role invites passionate individuals eager to advance their veterinary careers while providing compassionate care. Pay:
$16.00 - $23.00 per hour
