Duties Assist veterinarians during medical examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety for both pets and staff Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, and cleaning kennels to promote optimal health and hygiene Collect medical samples including blood, urine, or other specimens following aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols Maintain accurate records of patient information, treatments, medications, and laboratory results using veterinary software Support front desk operations by managing client communication, appointment scheduling, and administrative documentation in compliance with veterinary regulations such as DEA and USDA guidelines Assist with pet care routines including medication administration, wound management, and post-operative monitoring to ensure smooth recovery Skills Strong animal handling skills with experience in dog training, animal restraint, and kennel management Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine practices Familiarity with laboratory procedures, veterinary critical care techniques, and animal catheterization methods Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and veterinary software systems for record keeping and communication Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment plans and care instructions Understanding of drug enforcement regulations (DEA) and USDA regulations relevant to veterinary practice Experience working in a veterinary clinic environment with knowledge of veterinary critical care or equine experience is highly desirable Embark on a rewarding career supporting animal health while developing your expertise in veterinary medicine.
