Job Description

Duties:
  • Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting.
  • Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, and record results.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and kennels.
  • Monitor animals before, during, and after procedures to ensure their well-being.
  • Provide basic animal care, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of dog handling, equine care, kennel management, aseptic technique, and laboratory procedures is desirable.
  • Strong passion for animal care and welfare.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from veterinarians and senior staff members.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and provide information about animal care.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
