Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as an Automotive Service Consultant/Service Advisor, where your enthusiasm and mechanical knowledge will drive exceptional customer experiences. In this vital role, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle service and repairs, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between customers and our skilled technicians, fostering trust and satisfaction. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests. Provide clear explanations of recommended repairs and maintenance services, including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, transmissions, collision repairs, and more. Utilize estimating software and computer-aided estimating tools to prepare accurate repair estimates. Upsell additional services and maintenance plans that enhance vehicle performance and safety while aligning with customer needs. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services. Communicate effectively with clients throughout the service process, updating them on vehicle status and explaining repair procedures in understandable terms. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of service orders and client interactions. Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by understanding automotive diagnostics, auto body repair processes, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other key components. Drive customer satisfaction by delivering expert advice on vehicle maintenance schedules and promoting dealership services. Maintain a thorough understanding of dealership policies regarding service writing, estimating procedures, and automotive repair standards. Qualifications Proven experience as a Service Advisor within an automotive dealership or repair shop environment. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on mechanic experience preferred. Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential. Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for continuous learning about automotive repair is essential.
