Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant Allan Veterinary Clinic Brockton, MA Job Details Part-time From $17 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Companion animal handling Computer operation Heavy lifting Communication skills Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a receptionist/vet assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in being the face of Allan Veterinary Clinic. The perfect candidate will be very personable and able to make conversation with clients. This position also involves supporting the veterinarian in various clinical tasks. This position requires a love for animals and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties Checking patients in and out for exams Mastering multiple computer programs Answering phones communicating with clients about payment, pet health, medication etc Assist the veterinarian during examinations and surgical procedures. Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Assisting with laundry, cleaning facility, cleaning pet urine/feces Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide pet care education to clients, including nutrition, vaccines, flea/tick Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing. Lifting large dogs Handling difficult cats Experience Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas: Proficiency with computers Understanding of animal behavior to make decisions on best handling Familiarity with animal physiology to recognize signs of health or distress. Knowledge of dog and cat vaccines and flea /tick medications Knowledge of pet care basics, including nutrition and handling techniques.
