Veterinary Assistant•Full-Time Furbaby Medical | Ware, MA Furbaby Medical is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on position that combines patient care, assisting our medical team, and maintaining an exceptionally clean veterinary hospital. Cleanliness is extremely important to us. We want someone who takes pride in keeping their workplace clean and organized and understands that cleaning is not an occasional task it is an important part of the job every day. Our Veterinary Assistant will work closely with our veterinarian and veterinary technicians while helping create a safe, clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for every furbaby and family who visits us.
What You'll Do:
Assist the veterinarian and veterinary technicians during appointments and treatments Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats Prepare & clean exam and treatment rooms before and after patients Obtain patient histories, weights, and basic vital signs as trained Assist with blood draws, sample collection, laboratory testing, digital X-rays, and other procedures as trained Prepare and restock medical supplies Clean and disinfect exam rooms between every patient Clean and disinfect treatment, laboratory, X-ray, kennel, pharmacy, and other clinical areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the hospital Clean bathrooms, staff areas, counters, sinks, doors, and other surfaces Perform laundry, including towels, blankets, and hospital linens Clean kennels and animal-care areas Empty trash and properly dispose of waste Complete routine and scheduled deep cleaning Keep equipment, supplies, and work areas organized Notice when something needs to be cleaned or restocked without waiting to be asked!!! Help maintain the high standard of cleanliness our clients expect from Furbaby Medical Assist wherever needed to keep the hospital running smoothly We're looking for someone who is: Extremely clean, organized, and detail-oriented Dependable and punctual Comfortable cleaning up urine, feces, vomit, blood, hair, and the other realities of veterinary medicine Comfortable working with dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments Able to work independently and take initiative Willing to clean throughout the day—not just at opening or closing Friendly and professional with clients Able to work well as part of a small, close-knit team Eager to learn and take on additional veterinary responsibilities Physically able to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift approximately 40-50 pounds Previous veterinary or animal-care experience is preferred, but attitude, reliability, cleanliness, and willingness to learn are equally important to us.
Our Expectation:
At Furbaby Medical, cleaning is very important. If an exam room needs to be disinfected, a floor needs to be mopped, laundry needs to be done, or something needs attention, take care of it. We're looking for someone who shares that mindset. There is no "that's not my job" here. Whether we're helping a furbaby, assisting the doctor, answering a client question, or cleaning a mess, we work together to get it done. Full-Time | Tuesday-Saturday Furbaby Medical•
