Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. You will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional animal welfare, maintaining clinic operations, and delivering outstanding client service. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and behavior management to ensure safe procedures for pets and staff Support veterinary procedures including surgery preparation, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and maintaining clean treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards Handle front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, record keeping, and billing support Contribute to laboratory work by collecting samples, processing tests, and recording results accurately Maintain detailed medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments, medications, and procedures Support emergency critical care cases by monitoring vital signs and assisting with intensive animal care as needed Skills Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary clinic experience; equine experience is a plus Strong animal handling skills across different species including dogs and cats; familiarity with pet care routines Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior to assist effectively in clinical settings Experience with laboratory procedures, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about animal welfare and treatment plans Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols Familiarity with record keeping systems and laboratory equipment used in veterinary practice This paid role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their career in veterinary medicine. Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
