Family Pet Hospital is an independent, noncorporate and locally owned facility. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with veterinarians and pet owners to provide high-quality medical care delivering the highest quality preventative and medical pet care and in preforming following chores but not limited to: Prepare the exam rooms/treatment area with necessary medical items and supplies. Providing client education regarding preventive care and helping Veterinarian in treatment and surgeries. Holding or restraining pets during physical exam, treatment, or vaccination. Running in‐house laboratory tests (Idexx), help taking full body and/or full mouth dental radiology along with dental prophys. Cleaning the surgical suite and instruments and sterilizing/autoclaving surgical equipment. Ensuring cleanliness of the hospital includes but is not limited to housekeeping such as laundry, mopping, cage cleaning, trash collection and removal according to the hospital policies. Any other assigned job.Other Eligibilities:
Experience as a Veterinary Technician/Assist with would be plus. Must be at least 18 years old. You should be to work on computers. Confident around pets (dogs, cats, birds, pocket pets, etc). Had sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties. Able to walk, stand, crouch, stoop, climb and kneel, also manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 lbs.
