Job Description

Overview Bay Valley Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who already has a foundation in veterinary medicine and wants to be part of a supportive, fun-loving, and collaborative environment where teamwork and patient care come first. As a vital member of our hospital, you will play an important role in providing high-quality care to our patients while supporting our veterinarians and technicians in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care, examinations, and treatments Safely restrain animals for exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces for patient care Collect samples and assist with laboratory testing as directed Administer medications and treatments as instructed by the veterinary team Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient updates to the team Clean, sterilize, and maintain equipment and hospital areas Provide compassionate care to patients and excellent service to clients Support the team in maintaining a positive, efficient, and collaborative work environment Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant Strong animal handling and restraint skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor with clients and coworkers Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy hospital hours Willingness to learn and contribute to a supportive team culture Benefits & Perks We believe that when our team is supported, our patients receive the best care.
