Position Overview Pierson Pet Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Kennel Assistant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about helping both pets and the people who love them. Responsibilities Coordinate client check-in and check-out for boarding patients. Monitor patients throughout their stay and promptly identify and report changes requiring veterinary attention. Provide food, water, medications, and treatments according to established care instructions. Safely handle and exercise dogs in designated areas. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized hospital and kennel environment. Complete daily and weekly kennel cleaning, laundry, and facility maintenance. Maintain accurate patient records and boarding documentation. Communicate patient updates and concerns effectively with the veterinary team. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and exceptional patient care. Contribute to a professional, compassionate, and positive work environment. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous kennel or animal care experience preferred. Compassionate, patient, and attentive approach to patient care. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to work efficiently and independently while contributing to the team. Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable safely handling animals of varying sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Ability to follow detailed instructions, treatment plans, and hospital protocols. Dependable, responsible, and detail-oriented. Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation. Availability to work weekends is required. Availability to work holidays on a rotating schedule is required.
