Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Duties Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle incoming calls and inquiries regarding services, appointments, and pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical collections. Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with administrative tasks as needed. Provide information to clients about animal care, including basic knowledge of animal anatomy and health. Process payments and manage client accounts with attention to detail. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Assist with animal handling during check-ins or while waiting for services. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Knowledge of animal anatomy and care is a plus. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is beneficial. Experience in pet grooming or kennel management is an advantage. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and staff. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately in various situations. Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping.
