If you enjoy working with patients, supporting your veterinary team, and providing compassionate care, we'd love to meet you! 29503 W. Jefferson Ave., Gibraltar, MI 48173 $15-$20/hour Part-time | 2-3 days per week with rotating Saturdays What We're Looking For We're looking for a Veterinary Assistant with 2-4 years of veterinary experience who is comfortable working in a busy hospital environment.
Must-have skills:
Proficient in venipuncture Knowledge of vaccination protocols Comfortable with patient restraint and handling Experienced working with dogs and cats Confident with basic Veterinary Assistant duties Able to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable, compassionate, and eager to continue learning
Preferred:
Experience with Cornerstone practice management software. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll be an important part of our medical team.
Your responsibilities may include:
Assisting veterinarians and LVTs with appointments and treatments Safely restraining patients for examinations and procedures Performing venipuncture and collecting laboratory samples Assisting with surgery and anesthesia preparation Preparing exam and treatment areas Caring for hospitalized and boarding patients Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment Providing compassionate, Fear Free patient handling Communicating with clients and supporting the medical team Jumping in wherever needed to help your teammates and patients Why Gibraltar Veterinary Hospital? Safe and Clean Environment:
You'll take pride in maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care. What You'll Bring to the Team A High School Diploma or equivalent. A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure. Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
