Job Description

Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant Looking for an individual to join our team either part-time or full-time as a receptionist/veterinary assistant! We have 2 college students that will be going back to school in the near future and we are busy with fleas, ticks and an influx of vacationers and phone calls to our office. We need help with our busy days. YES they are busy! I cannot stress enough that we need people able to jump in and assist with answering the phones, processing payments, scheduling appointments and assisting our clients. Our employees will also be responsible for light cleaning and assisting the doctor when appropriately trained. If you like staying busy and having the day fly by, this is a great opportunity. We are a professional, very fast-paced and customer-centric small animal clinic in Kincheloe, MI. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, a friendly and professional demeanor, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and be able to get up and down off the floor when assisting with animals. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, can handle multiple tasks simultaneously, able to follow directions and can jump right in to get started. Keeping busy is of the utmost importance. Employees may choose to take a lunch break or continue working with lunch provided by the clinic. We offer flexible working hours and each employee is required to work 1-2 Saturdays per month . Candidates must be available for both day and evening shifts as we are open late a few days of the week.
Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome visitors and pets in a professional manner. You are the first person our clients will deal with when entering the clinic. Answer phones, return client calls and schedule appointments, monetary transactions. Document conversations in our computer system. Our phones ring off the hook! Maintain a clean and organized reception area. Cleaning of exam rooms throughout the day. Vacuuming and mopping the clinic at the end of the night. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, stocking, scanning and uploading. Assist doctors as needed. You must be able to follow directions, interact with clients, answer the phone, and be prepared to be busy all day!
