Veterinary Assistant Manistee Veterinary Hospital - Manistee, MI Full-Time | $16.00-$18.00 per hour Licensed Technician Full-Time | Based on experience and skills $19-23 per hour Manistee Veterinary Hospital is looking for a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our small animal practice. Veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person . We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic who enjoys helping both animals and people, works well as part of a team, and is interested in learning and developing their veterinary skills. No weekends No major holidays Friday afternoons off Monday-Thursday full days + Friday mornings Independently owned veterinary practice Dogs and cats only Hands-on training and opportunities to develop new skills Small team environment where your contribution matters Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary depending on experience and training and may include: Assisting the veterinarian with examinations and patient care Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats Drawing blood and collecting laboratory samples Running in-house laboratory testing Taking radiographs Preparing patients, supplies, and treatment areas for procedures Filling medications and preparing prescriptions Maintaining accurate patient records Communicating with clients about their pets Cleaning and maintaining treatment and patient-care areas Restocking and helping keep the hospital organized Supporting coworkers and helping wherever needed throughout the day We're Looking for
