Our busy and growing privately owned small animal hospital is searching for a part-time veterinary assistant. We are a six-doctor practice that is looking for an outgoing, compassionate, and dedicated individual that can help us continue to grow. We thrive on partnering with our clients and being passionate is a must! We are a full-service veterinary hospital that offers digital radiography, digital dental radiography, an in-house laboratory, ultrasound, and much more. Our veterinary assistants are an integral part of the medical team and rely heavily on their experience, knowledge, and skills. In addition to dogs and cats we see pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and more. Exotic animal experience is a plus! Pay is dependent on experience and skill level. ($16-$23/hr). We are looking for a part-time associate with a potential opportunity to transition to full-time in the future. We are flexible in schedule but do require rotating Saturdays (until 1:15 pm) and early evenings (until 6:15 pm). Our day shifts start between 7:30 am and 8:45 am. We work with Avimark software. Hours We are open Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 6 pm, and Saturdays from 7:30 am to 1 pm Closed on Major Holidays Duties and requirements The ability to triage (in person and on the phone) Ability to take detailed medical history-lead room appointments Be educated on low-stress animal restraint techniques Client education Great communication skills Great customer service skills Ability to think critically a must Ability to assess what needs to be done and make decisions throughout the day We have fully digital records so ability to type a MUST Being able to lift at least 35 lbs Good diagnostic/lab skills Full Time associates receive a generous benefits package, including: Competitive Salary with increases based on performance Flexible schedules to meet your individual needs Retirement IRA (after 1 year with 3% matching) Uniform allowance Pet care discounts for your own pets Workplace perks such as coffee
