Job Description

Job Summary Are you looking for a good work life balance? Then Glen Lake Animal Hospital may be the place for you! We are currently hiring a full time Veterinary Technician. We are a three doctor, privately owned practice, located in Minnetonka. Our practice places an emphasis on quality medicine, surgery, dentistry, and client education. Our hours are Monday through Friday 7:30-6 with a four-day work week and no weekend hours! We offer PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, retirement plans, paid CE, and great discounts for employee pets. Our clinic is fully equipped with digital radiography including dental, complete Idexx lab, ultrasound, and therapeutic laser. Our staff is educated and well trained. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection Provide thorough animal husbandry and pet care to promote health and well-being Handle a variety of animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dogs, cats, and equines when applicable Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques during surgeries, laboratory work, and examinations Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with clients effectively Monitor animal physiology during recovery from anesthesia or medical treatments Perform laboratory tasks such as sample processing and basic diagnostic testing to aid in diagnosis Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience working in veterinary clinics is highly valued Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and restraint techniques Experience with medication administration, catheterization, and aseptic procedures necessary for safe patient care Familiarity with laboratory procedures and veterinary critical care practices is a plus Ability to handle animals confidently using dog handling skills and animal restraint techniques Excellent communication skills for front desk duties and client interactions Must demonstrate a genuine passion for pet care, animal welfare, and continuous learning in veterinary medicine This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their veterinary career while providing compassionate care to animals. Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
