Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and support. In this energetic role, you will ensure the well-being, safety, and comfort of a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and equines. Your dedication will help create a positive environment for both pets and their owners, while supporting veterinary professionals in delivering top-tier medical services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal husbandry, handling, and veterinary procedures within a fast-paced, compassionate setting. Duties Provide daily care for animals housed in kennels, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and monitoring health status Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and medication administration to ensure safety for animals and staff Maintain clean and organized kennel areas following aseptic techniques to prevent infections Support veterinary staff with animal handling during procedures such as catheterization or laboratory testing Administer medications accurately according to veterinary instructions and document all treatments performed Observe animals closely for signs of illness or distress and communicate findings to veterinary personnel promptly Support front desk operations by managing animal check-ins and check-outs, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records Skills Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care procedures Skilled in animal restraint techniques across different species including dogs, cats, and horses Experience with medication administration and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting Ability to handle animals confidently using proper pet care and animal handling methods Familiarity with laboratory procedures and veterinary clinic operations is a plus Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with veterinary teams and assist clients when needed Embark on a rewarding career where your passion for animals makes a difference every day!
