Archdale Animal Hospital is seeking a reliable, hardworking Kennel Assistant to support our veterinary and boarding team. - Supportive environment where your work is noticed and valued Key Responsibilities Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized pets , including feeding, watering, and monitoring Maintain clean, sanitized, and organized kennels, cages, and treatment areas Safely handle and restrain pets with a focus on low-stress, compassionate care Walk, bathe, and provide enrichment to support pets' physical and emotional well-being Observe and report changes in behavior, appetite, or health status to the veterinary team Support the hospital team with patient preparation, cleaning protocols, and general upkeep Manage laundry, dishes, and facility cleanliness to ensure a safe and healthy environment Assist in creating a welcoming, calm atmosphere for both pets and their owners Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Previous animal care experience strongly preferred (kennel, boarding, daycare, or veterinary setting) Strong commitment to cleanliness, organization, and efficiency Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and staying active throughout the shift Ability to recognize signs of stress, illness, or discomfort in animals Positive attitude with a team-first mindset Willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced veterinary environment Experience in a veterinary hospital or high-volume boarding facility Confidence working with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments Strong work ethic with a proactive, task-oriented approach Passion for delivering consistent, compassionate animal care Job Benefits $12•13/hour , based on experience Paid Time Off (PTO) Employee Pet Care Discounts Flexible Scheduling Options Ongoing training and career development opportunities Clear pathways for growth into clinical roles Must pass background check and drug screening Professional references required If you're a detail-oriented, compassionate animal care professional who takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and nurturing environment—we want to meet you.
