Job Description

Carolina Equine Hospital is seeking a dedicated veterinary assistant/technician to join our progressive, team-oriented equine hospital. Carolina Equine Hospital is dedicated to providing innovative, comprehensive veterinary care, exceptional service and education through our team of experienced professionals for large animal owners in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. We are a state of the art hospital with hospitalization capabilities for up to 8 horses as well as modern diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities. CEH is a 7- doctor practice servicing the piedmont triad of NC. We place a strong emphasis on team work and feel mainting cultural integrity is essential to the success of our team members. Duties include providing exceptional patient care for hospitalized patients as well as patients seen in clinic or on the farm, processing laboratory samples for in house and referral diagnostics, assistance with surgery, anesthesia, inventory management and basic office clerical work. Ambulatory veterinary assisting will include assisting veterinarians on ambulatory calls, maintaining vehicle inventory and organization, invoicing, medical record entry, managing patient samples, and helping to manage incoming phone calls and messages. This position requires a candidate to demonstrate proficient organization skills and a self-starter type attitude. Additionally, our veterinary assistant/technician plays a critical role in our veterinary student education program. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. The ideal applicant will be very comfortable with electronic communications as well as and other computer- based systems. The preferred applicant must have experience and comfort with horses as well as other farm animal species. The practice is active within the community and is looking for someone who would like to be part of an exceptional team. Competitive salary and benefits package offered. Full time preferred but consideration given to part time candidates who are extremely goal oriented. This position offers a 4 day work week.
