Overview Job description ISS is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician or experienced veterinary assistant or willing to train the right candidate.
Summary:
The responsibilities will include keeping accurate medical records, clerical work, client education, promotion of hospital products and services and support of the organization. Assess vital signs, perform treatments, and administer medication as directed by the veterinarian or appointed team member Prep and assist in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures Triage patients, assist with physical exams, and gather thorough medical histories Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs Operate and maintain hospital equipment, i.e., EKG, fluid pump, digital x-ray, anesthetic monitors and machines Monitor anesthesia under the direction and supervision of the veterinarian Communicate with clients/owners about the status of patients, as directed by the veterinarian Fill prescriptions/administer medications
Requirements:
Knowledge of hospital procedures, policies, and services Client and patient treatment protocols Hospital computer systems Standard procedures, records, and terminology used in a veterinary hospital. Involves pet restraint, lab work, medical procedures, surgery, nursing care, and triage/discharge of patients.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
